Fr. Kevin
Seasoltz is a Benedictine monk of St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville,
Minnesota. Having completed his graduate studies at The Catholic
University of America and the Lateran University in Rome, he received a
license in theology and a doctorate in canon law. He taught
for twenty-five years in what is now the School of Theology and Religious
Studies at The Catholic University of America. In 1988 he became the
rector of St. John’s Seminary in Collegeville. For the past
twenty-three years he has been the editor of the liturgical journal Worship,
which was honored in 2001 with the Michael Mathis Award by the University
of Notre Dame. He has lectured widely in North America, Europe, Asia
and Australia and has written numerous books, articles and reviews.
In 2005 he received the Berakah Award from the North American Academy of
Liturgy. His latest books are A Sense of the Sacred: Theological
Foundations of Sacred Architecture and Art (which won first place for
liturgy in the Catholic Press Association Awards for 2006) and God’s
Gift Giving: In Christ and Through the Spirit, both published by
Continuum.
